Here Comes The Rain Again
The long, hot summer days are officially over. And that means,
children are now back in school to thrive for another year. While that may not
seem too fun, for some, it is another opportunity of learning new things and be
able to meet new friends.
The summer months left most of us experiencing water
shortage and at the same time, have developed some diseases which are very
common during summer. good thing that the dry spell is finally over and now we
get to enjoy a much colder weather.
Although have a cooler season means we can be out longer than
we used to without having to worry about getting sunburned or develop headache or
much worse, heat stroke, the rainy days also may bring some dilemma to all of
us if we fail to take care of ourselves well.
Rainy Season Fun
Do you love the summer days more than the rainy days? For
sure, most people prefer having the warm days because they can go out and play
more often and can enjoy the beach with their families and friends. However, we
should not think that the rainy season would mean having us trapped inside our
homes doing nothing but just to pray that the rain would stop. There are fun
ways on how you can still enjoy the weather.
1.
Try going to one of Laguna’s hot springs. If you
are one of those who just love the water, going to a hot spring may just be the
best way to spend the rainy day with your friends. More than enjoying to be in
the water, bathing in hot spring water has its benefits:
a.
Reduces stress and promotes better sleep.
b.
Improves blood circulation.
c.
It relieves aches and pains.
d.
Helps heal skin problems.
e.
It can help tone your autonomous nervous system
and helps normalize your endocrine system through detoxification.
f.
Helps boost the immune system.
2.
Who wouldn’t love shopping? The malls are always
filled with people no matter what season. And during the rainy days, it may
just be the perfect time to buy things that are on sale. BUT, be careful with
what you are buying. Be sure that the items are truly on sale, that they are
still in good condition, and most importantly, that you only buy what you
really need. Some people tend to overspend during a mall sale thinking that
they have a good bargain with certain things, but these items just end up being
stored and forgotten.
3.
Remember how most of the educational trips we
had when we were children was spending a day at a museum? This may be your
chance to revisit those old museums you have been and discover the new ones. It
will be a fun time as well as educational.
4.
Are you a foodie? There are lots of restaurants
that have emerged for the past years and for sure, you would want to know which
is the best Samgyup restaurant there is or where the best sushi is served. Food
parks have sprouted almost everywhere, and it is one place that gets to be
filled up all the time. You might want to consider squeezing in sometime to
check the latest food hub with your family or best buddies.
5.
If you don’t feel like going out, you can always
be at home your family and have a movie marathon. Smart TVs have become so popular
these days that most people have become hooked on Netflix, iflix, YouTube,
Amazon Prime Videos, just to name a few. Consider investing on a reliable brand
like AVision. It is the #1 TV brand of
choice in Lazada
and Shopee because of its
wide range of sizes and very affordable price. You can know more about it here.
6.
If you like hosting parties, you may create one
like having a pajama party with your friends. There is nothing like being with
your best friends just like the old days.
7.
The digital age may have robbed most of our
youths with being kids. Most of them are now tied in front of their gadgets playing
online games or chatting endlessly with friends. While the technology may have somehow
improved our way of life by making things easier for us, it also has some
disadvantages – one of which is that it has been one of the caused of children’s
obesity due to lack of physical activities. Therefore, instead of spending time
with the virtual world, why not take out those dusty game boards and let the
children learn how to play them. Monopoly or The Millionaire’s game would
surely take your hours of fun!
Taking Care of Your
Appliances During The Rainy Season
The rainy season may sometimes cause fluctuation in electricity.
And to ensure that you always keep all your appliances safe:
1.
Make it a habit to unplug all unused appliances.
Sudden
surge of electricity may cause your appliances to overload and ignite.
2.
During thunderstorms, turn off your television. Lighting
strikes anywhere and you would not want your television to be the unlucky
target.
3.
The rainy season may cause flood in low-lying
areas. If you live in that area, make sure to place all your appliances on safer
place like the second floor of your home or to at least place it on top of something
stable enough that can hold it during a flood.
4.
During a storm, the wind may cause trees to fall.
Make sure that your windows are closed, too, to prevent the wind from coming
inside your home and knock down your things particularly your LED TVs which are
not mounted on the wall.
5.
You may feel bored when your TV is turned off,
however, it is wiser to stay tune on the latest news using your battery-operated
radio.
6.
Ensure that all the leaks in your home have been
repaired. Water seeping through walls may reach electricity which eventually
may cause fire.
7.
Having an emergency light or flashlight is very
important. Make sure that you have fully charged the emergency light in case
the electricity has been cut because of the storm. Avoid using candles to
prevent from causing fire. A large majority of fire cases have been reported to
be caused
by candles that affected so many lives.
Also, make sure that your first aid kit is at hand.
Rainy days have surely come. But just like all other days, we must
always keep safe at home, at work, in school and most especially while on the
road.
